Costa Coffee and Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR) have renewed their long-term partnership in the United Arab Emirates, extending their agreement until 2040.
26 Years of Collaboration in the UAE
Costa Coffee and ELR began working together in 1999. Their collaboration included the opening of the first Costa Coffee franchise store outside the United Kingdom.
The partnership has since grown to more than 160 Costa Coffee stores operating in the UAE. ELR was also recently recognized as International Franchise Partner of the Year at Costa Coffee's International Partner Forum.
Renewing a Long-Term Franchise Agreement
The agreement's extension to 2040 marks a further commitment to the established relationship between the international coffee brand and its franchise partner in the UAE.
Costa Coffee CEO Philippe Schailee pointed to the partnership as an example of the possibilities created by a long-standing franchise relationship, while ELR CEO Tyrone Reid emphasized the companies' collaboration since 1999.
A Long-Term Franchise Partnership in the UAE
The Costa Coffee–ELR relationship stands as a specific example of long-term franchise collaboration in the UAE. From their first franchise store together in 1999 to a network of more than 160 stores, the partnership has developed over 26 years.
